RECONSIDER TRAVEL INSURANCE…..

Monday, November 30th, 2009

RECONSIDER TRAVEL INSURANCE..IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE AND YOU NEVER KNOW…..

Travel insurance that safeguards a trip is a good idea for anyone, but even more so for families with young children.

When your kids are small, you never know what the day many bring: for example, chicken pox, the day before you’re leaving on a holiday.

Types of Travel Insurance

Trip Cancellation
If your seven-year-old gets chicken pox and you have to cancel your holiday, part or all of it may be non-refundable. Trip Cancellation Insurance will reimburse you for the non-refundable portions of your trip.

Trip Interruption
These policies reimburse you if your trip is cut short because one of the travelers has an accident or serious illness. You’re also protected if you have to fly home because of a serious illness, or death, in your immediate family.

Note:

  • policies for these types of travel insurance must sometimes be purchased at the time you buy your air tickets, or within a few days of purchase
  • trip interruption travel insurance is usually much cheaper than trip cancellation coverage
  • Club Med guests are required to buy a “membership” when booking a holiday; the good news is that certain travel insurance protection is provided too

Welcome back…let it SNOW!!!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

www.adventurefamilytrips.com WELCOMES you all back and we are all looking forward to a snowy season this year. So, far it has been delayed but we are optimistic that December will make up for the lack of precipitation!

We are going to be posting some great specials for familes traveling with children. Some of the featured destinations will include Camelback Mountain in Tannersville PA, Split Rock Resort which offers activites on premises & skiing at Jack Frost Mtn and Big Boulder Ski Resort, and last but not least… a favorite of mine and my childrens….Snowshoe WV. It is worth the trip and is much like Vail, CO on a smaller scale.

So, keep checking the site as we will continue with updates and hope the sky starts to deliver the white stuff and plenty of it!

Warmest Regards,

POCONO WHITEWATER IN JIM THORPE PA

Friday, July 17th, 2009

We visited Pocono Whitewater last week and had an amazing time! I took my 2 boys ,who are 6 and 9, for a River Raft trip down the Lehigh River. It was an incredible experience and the outfitters that guided us are one of a kind. I highly reccommend this trip to any family with kids ages 4 and up. It is located near the town of Jim Thorpe and I will be posting some great packages that include accomodations and activites. Pocono Whitewater also offers biking trips, kayaks, paintball and even train rides! You will love it so much… you will want to plan your next trip before you leave and trust me your kids will hound you until you do!

Keep an eye on our website for the addition of POCONO WHITEWATER to our “destinations” and call for more information.

Why Buy Insurance for your FAMILY TRIP

Access America Advantage: Top 10 Reasons to Buy Travel Insurance
Whether you take one vacation a year, or travel internationally on a regular basis for your business, a good travel insurance plan will cover you for virtually every unexpected contingency. From travel delays due to bad weather or a missed connection, a lost piece of luggage, or a medical emergency in a foreign country, help is only a phone call away. TODAY Travel Editor, Peter Greenberg, recommends purchasing travel insurance to protect your financial investment and your peace of mind. In a recently published article, Greenberg lists nine reasons why he thinks travel insurance is a must-have accessory, and we’ve added a 10th reason of our own:

1 Your flight has been cancelled.*
2 Your bags are lost and your medication is in it. You need to have an emergency prescription filled.*
3 Your passport and wallet are stolen, and you need emergency cash and a replacement passport.*
4 You’re involved in an accident and adequate medical treatment is not available. You need medical evacuation.*
5 You need to cancel your trip due to illness.*
6 Your cruise line, airline or tour operator goes bankrupt. You need your non-refundable expenses covered and to get to your destination.*
7 You have a medical emergency in a foreign country.*
8 A terrorist incident occurs in the city where you’re planning to visit and you want to cancel your trip.*
9 A hurricane forces you to evacuate your resort, hotel or cruise.*
10 In response to our tough economy, we’ve added a 10th reason: you lose your job but you’ve already paid for your trip or cruise and need your cash back.

To Whom It May Concern:
I want to thank Access America for helping me. I was halfway through a two-week research trip overseas, when my husband suffered a stroke. Because I had purchased Access America travel insurance, I knew that I could afford to get myself back home right away. Access America made it easy for me to file my claim, and you reimbursed me quickly and completely for the airfare increase I had to pay for my changed ticket. A year later, my husband has recovered well
from the stroke, and I use Access America insurance for all my air travel.

With gratitude, Sally S.

Pocono visit to Camelbeach Waterpark and Resort in Tannersville PA

Friday, May 29th, 2009

We went to visit Camelbeach Waterpark and Resort this past weekend for their Grand Opening. Thought the temps weren’t too warm, we had a great time. From the lazy river , to the wave pool, the boys had huge smiles! They also had a great time at Big Pocono Mining. I never thought mining for rocks in water would be of such interest. They didn’t want to leave! So …HINT TO PARENTS: don’t miss that attraction! My boys are 6 & 9 and were there for 20 minutes and more if I didn’t want to get back to the slides! It is perfect because it is right near the food so you can enjoy food and  drinks while you watch them dig for crystals & jewels.

We have Season Passes for only $89.oo available for a limited time and great discounts on general tickets. Call now to get your reservations and don’t forget they have lodging that is slopeside!
